The 3rd FIDE Chess Olympiad for people with Disabilities is Happening 10 - 18 September 2026 in Samarkand, Uzbekistan - right alongside the 46th Chess Olympiad.
This is the record edition:
40 teams confirmed - up from 26 in Belgrade 2023 and 34 in Astana. It's the first time it's being staged together with the main Olympiad
Format: 7-round Swiss team event (one round longer than before). Each team = 4 players + 1 reserve, and at least one player of each gender must play every round
Time control: 90 minutes for first 40 moves + 30 min for the rest + 30 sec increment from move 1
